Icam have developed 3 major upgrades for The MRD the "workhorse" of the archives . These upgrades will improve the efficiency and the ease of operation of the camera.

The first is the through the lens video system. This replaces the finder light system with a video camera and monitor that constantly displays the position and size of document. Eliminating the inconvenient finderlight/main lamp switching.

Cold Fluorescent Lighting System The advantages of these lights are:

1) Reduced defused lighting levels for the operator.

2) Increased contrast on the microfilm produced.

3) Integrates with existing lighting control system.

4) Cooler operation for book protection.

5) More even light distribution.

6) Much longer lamp life and reduced power consumption.

 

Book Shuttle Allows the book or document to be shuttled laterally to speed the process of single page filming of larger volumes. Book supports are also available.
