Icam
provide solutions to even the most difficult capture problems
. Illustrated is the Icam Atlas camera designed to capture
documents such as tithe maps with the minimum of handling.
The digital camera used is the ultra high resolution PowerPhase
FX scanning back capable of capturing an A0 document at almost
300 dpi. The Atlas utilises cold fluorescent lighting to protect
documents. The lower platen is a rail system that allows the
document to be moved under the camera head. Documents above
A0 size are captured in sections then stitched in software
and presented in the Archangel mapping format so that each
map is available to the public in the highest resolution on
a single self running CD. This was developed for the Kent
Tithe map project ( see Case histories ) and is available
for rental for specific projects |
